The second National Meeting for Research and Community Collaboration towards “Ending the HIV Epidemic in the US” was held in Birmingham, Alabama on September 15, 2022. Hosted by the UAB Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), the workshop-style format was designed to impart local knowledge derived from the funded projects aligned with the key pillars of protect, diagnose, respond, and treat. This hybrid workshop promoted the sharing of best practices and generalizable findings among the Ending the HIV Epidemic project teams, and offered opportunities for networking and exploring collaborations among researchers, government leaders, community members, and public health partners. Of the more than 350 people who attended virtually and in person, up to 40 percent represented public health and community partnerships. In advance of the meeting, 125 investigators, clinicians, and public and community health partners and trainees from all levels attended a virtual Implementation Science training.
