J.D. Smith, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences, Division of Health System Innovation and Research, at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah. He serves on a number of national committees and advisory panels on implementation science, and is currently the Associate Editor of both the journals Prevention Science and Families, Systems, and Health. Prior to joining the University of Utah in fall of 2020, Smith was an Associate Professor in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago from 2015 to 2020, where he served as Associate Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse-funded Center for Prevention Implementation Methodology for Drug Abuse and HIV and Co-director of Dissemination and Implementation Science in the Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program.
