HIV Implementation Literature Review Dashboard

What this is

The Literature Review Dashboard is an interactive database tool comprised of hundreds of U.S. studies that identify multilevel determinants of HIV implementation. The aim of this tool is to give implementation researchers and practitioners access to the articles and implementation findings of systematic reviews that can help to inform delivery of HIV programs and services. The ISCI team will update this dashboard periodically, and here’s a snapshot of what is included to date:

-239 peer-reviewed, US-based studies containing over 1900 determinants of PrEP implementation

-Data are coded by setting, geographic region, priority population, domains and constructs based on the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) 2.0, valence (i.e., barriers, facilitators), and more.

Who it’s for

This tool was made with HIV implementation researchers and those who implement HIV programs and services in mind. Both groups may explore and use the data in a number of ways.

    Researchers

Researchers could use the dashboard to identify papers for further review and identify gaps in the literature for future study.

    Implementation practitioners

Implementation practitioners might use the dashboard to assist in writing grants and designing programs, identifying gaps in resources and finding relevant literature to learn about implementation of HIV interventions.

    How to use it

ISCI postdoctoral scholars Artur Queiroz and alithia zamantakis, give a demonstration on how to use the HIV Literature Review Dashboard as well as giving users an applied example of how this tool can be integrated into their research.

    Quick Tips:

Use the tabs to change between different views of the dashboard.

    -Article tab – identifies papers

-Determinant tab – identifies barriers and facilitators measured in each article

-Hybrid tab – see both simultaneously

-Click filters to narrow down the articles and determinants

-Export a spreadsheet with your search results

    Details

The data in this dashboard comes from ongoing systematic reviews of determinants and strategies for HIV interventions. The current version has PrEP determinants and future versions will also include PrEP strategies as well as determinants and strategies for HIV testing, linkage to PrEP/care and other steps along the cascade.

    Overall methods:

-Our team completed a systematic review of U.S. studies that identified multilevel determinants of HIV implementation and the strategies tested to address those determinants.

-Ovid MEDLINE, PsycINFO, and Web of Science databases.

    -Peer-reviewed articles published in English.

-Determinants were coded using an adapted CFIR 2.0.

-Strategies were coded using the ERIC taxonomy.

    Update history

    Version 1.0 – June 10, 2022 – added 239 papers about PrEP determinants.
