All Things Configured: Coincidence Analysis (CNA)-Related Findings

July 23, 2024 and July 25, 2024

In their July meeting, the national community of practice All Things Configured will feature ISCI’s Dennis H. Li and alithia zamantakis together with Reiping Huang from Northwestern University. They will present CNA-related findings from their ongoing analysis of variation in the national implementation of Keep It Up! (KIU!)—a self-guided, web-based, evidence-based intervention—by HIV community-based organizations (CBOs) across the country.

HIV researchers have long championed digital interventions as a key modality to reach young men who have sex with men, who account for nearly half of new HIV infections in the United States, with critical HIV prevention education and support. However, few such programs have been implemented outside of clinical trials, leaving questions around how to best deliver them.

To address this gap, a NIMH/NIDA R01 project based at Northwestern University examined the use of two different implementation strategies for putting the eHealth KIU! program into practice across the United States. In this CNA analysis, Dennis H. Li, alithia zamantakis, and Reiping Huang apply CNA to identify difference-making configurations of contextual factors that distinguish CBOs that experience greater success in implementing KIU! from those that do not.

This presentation will be offered at two different times to accommodate participants in different time zones: Tuesday, July 23, at 9 a.m. CT, and Thursday, July 25, at 1 p.m. CT. The talk was originally presented during the two-day CNA conference at RUSH University in Chicago in May 2024.
