HIV Next Generation Conference

The Center for HIV Identification, Prevention, and Treatment Services (CHIPTS) is hosting a free conference to support the next generation of HIV researchers, HIV prevention and treatment practitioners, and service providers dedicated to ending to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Attendees will network with each other and exchange visions for future priorities.

United States Conference on HIV/AIDS (USCHA): ISCI Workshop
In-person conference and workshop
USCHA 2024 took place in New Orleans, Louisiana, and had a focus on HIV in the South and the theme #SouthernJoy. During the conference, ISCI hosted the workshop, “Tools to Prepare, Guide, and Evaluate Implementation of HIV Initiatives.” Visit the event webpage to access resources for using implementation research tools and methods to develop and execute an implementation plan of an HIV intervention.

Hybrid panel discussion
Northwestern’s Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing welcomed members of the Chicago Department of Public Health documentary “HIV and the Journey Toward Zero” for a panel discussion. Watch the recording to hear from long-term survivors, newly diagnosed people, clinicians, researchers, and community leaders—voices making HIV history.

What Is Implementation Science and How Is It Helping to End the HIV Epidemic?

The ISCI team provides an introduction to implementation science, research, and tools during a presentation to the Research Centers in Minority Institutions Program, which is part of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. The presentation gives an overview of key tools for implementation research, all of which participants can access on the ISCI website.

The Implementation Research Logic Model (IRLM)

Implementation Science Advisor JD Smith, PhD, presents the IRLM, a method for planning, executing, reporting, and synthesizing implementation projects. He goes over what the IRLM is, what it can do, and how to use it, with a step-by-step guide that viewers can directly apply to their own projects.
